1. Building-scale Applications: developing new methodologies based on building energy models to enhance the current modes of building performance over the building lifecycle.

3. Approaches for Risk-conscious Decision-making: developing probabilistic analysis methods that account for uncertainty in simulation models and quantify risks associated with decision alternatives for well-informed decision-making.
